About us

Oneworld SEE (owpsee) is a Foundation and a network of organisations and individuals with a seat in Sarajevo and area of activity in the virtual space on the internet. Since the very beginning, our mission has been based on the use of internet and information and communications technologies (ICTs) as tools for exchange and transfer of knowledge, openness of contents, strengthening of capacities of civil initiative and support for activities aimed at positive social change. As a virtual organization that works on implementation of new technologies, owpsee has its own server that is used for storage and development of online platforms.

www.oneworldsee.org offers more than just access to information. It is a regional “news portal” of the civil society and nongovernmental organizations in Southeast Europe. In addition to the latest news from the civil sector, activities of nongovernmental organisations and other governmental, political and economic actors that influence the development of civil society and democratization of the region, the portal offers commentary on current events and interviews with prominent civic and NGO activists, information on coming events and planned activities, conferences, campaigns, job openings, fundraising opportunities for activities and projects.

Activities in the sector of tourism “Tourism and Information and Communication Technologies”

Since 2006, owpsee has been working on the development of the internet portal www.putovatibalkanom.net, a multilingual online platform for cooperation of different organizations that work in the area of promotion of responsible tourism in the Balkans. Knowing that the Balkans is a subject to stereotypes and generalisations, mostly based on wars and insecurity, we intended to present the region from another perspective. We did that with the help of a series of roadsigns and activities that put emphasis on quality locations, historical and archaeological heritage, local traditions and culture and the extraordinary beauty and force of nature. In time, the portal developed into a valuable, three-lingual database of useful information for all people that want to travel the Balkans.
In cooperation with Italian nongovernmental organization Oxfam Italia, and under the auspices of their project “Support to Creation and Promotion of Paths to Eco and Sustainable Tourism in Bosnia and Herzegovina”, we developed an intranet system for storage of information and exchange of date inside the emerging eco-tourism network. We also created and trained ICT teams that will conduct future activities on the development of the intranet system and act as “information engines” of the network.
